Community and Creativity

With nearly 500 hours of collaborative effort, the new mural at the Emerge Clinical Services Center stands as a vibrant testament to creativity, teamwork, and community impact. This project, a partnership between the Greene County Juvenile Court’s JAG Mural Program and K12 Gallery & TEJAS, gives teens the opportunity to develop communication, problem-solving, and creative skills while contributing to something bigger than themselves.

Under the guidance of Judge Amy H. Lewis, these young artists have transformed simple techniques into complex, multilayered designs, helping paint over 20,000 square feet of murals across Xenia and Fairborn. Each stroke represents growth, pride, and the joy of creating something that will be seen and appreciated by the wider community.

By getting involved, community members can help make this kind of transformative experience possible. The teens working on the JAG mural learn the value of collaboration, following guidance, and seeing the tangible results of their effort—lessons that build confidence and self-esteem. This year’s mural at Emerge not only brings joy and beauty to those who pass by, but also symbolizes hope, faith, and opportunity for the community it serves. Your support—through volunteering, donations, or spreading the word—helps provide these young artists with meaningful ways to make a difference, leaving a lasting mark on both the community and their own lives.
