Nathan Crago, M.A., LICDC, LPC is the Director of Recovery Housing at Emerge. Nate’s role at Emerge is to design and implement programs, provide staff oversight, supervision, and direction.

Nate has worked in the substance use treatment profession for nearly 20 years and has spent the majority of his career working with the most severe cases in substance use recovery housing treatment.

Nate is a Licensed Independent Substance use Counselor (LICDC), a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), and a certified Peer Recovery Support Supervisor. He completed his undergraduate degree at the University of Cincinnati with his B.S. in substance use counseling and his graduate degree at the University of the Cumberland with his M.A. in mental health counseling. Nate is a co-founder along with Amy Pulver of Hope Spot, a community recovery resource center in Xenia, Ohio, since 2015, and serves as their board president.

In his spare time, Nate enjoys spending time with his family and friends in nature, traveling, physical fitness, and having a good laugh.

Nate believes that attitude is everything, and while you can’t always change your surroundings, you can always change your perspective, perception, and attitude. “Life is too short to stay upset about things you can’t control or change.”

Nate is inspired to continue in this line of work because he understands and has witnessed recovery’s profound ripple effect on families and communities. One life changed can positively impact hundreds and sometimes thousands of others.
