Ashley Harris, Peer Support Supervisor at Emerge, brings a wealth of experience and a solid commitment to making a difference in the lives of marginalized populations. With over 11 years of dedicated leadership in community initiatives, Ashley has significantly contributed to the availability and quality of healthcare and wellness services in the Miami Valley area. In addition, she is a passionate advocate for individuals affected by substance use disorders, mental health diagnoses, and trauma.
Having joined Emerge in April 2023, Ashley plays a vital role in developing and advancing the peer support program. Her expertise in evidenced-based, person-centered peer support services has enabled her to effectively guide clients through pre-recovery, recovery initiation, and building recovery capital through fostering relational transformation. In addition, her professional designations and industry-related accomplishments fuel Ashley’s dedication to empowering individuals.
Ashley holds the esteemed Ohio Peer Supporter Certification from the Ohio Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services, which showcases her expertise in providing peer support services. In addition, her commitment to professional growth led her to complete the Trauma Informed Care Practitioner’s Certificate from the TIC Training Center, demonstrating her proficiency in trauma-informed approaches. With these certifications, Ashley brings a high level of knowledge and skill to her role.
Moreover, Ashley’s leadership qualities and dedication have been recognized through her appointment to the board of various nonprofit organizations. She has actively built public-private partnerships and promoted restorative justice, equity, and unity in marginalized communities. Ashley’s contributions to community advocacy efforts and her facilitation of workshops on racial and cultural tensions have made a significant impact.
Beyond her professional achievements, Ashley finds joy in spending time with her loving husband, five children, and cherished fur babies. Inspired by the grace of God, she believes that challenges make life interesting while overcoming them makes life meaningful. Ashley’s unwavering motivation lies in Jesus’ love, grace, and kindness, which has transformed her life. She believes that the transformative relationships and support she received have the power to change lives. Through her work at Emerge, she strives to contribute to the mission of rebuilding lives and restoring hope by providing transformational relationships that offer connection, hope, and advocacy to provide a pathway for clients to achieve sustained recovery management.
