Seized Money from Local Criminal Enterprises Gets Donated to Emerge

Greene County Prosecutor's Office Donates $6,000 to Local, Faith-Based Nonprofit

XENIA — It's not every day that Greene County Prosecutor David Hayes gets to take money seized by the police from local criminal enterprises and put it towards good causes in the community.

When he does, however, he said he wants to make sure it ends up in the right hands.

A Meaningful Donation

Prosecutor Hayes was on site at Emerge Recovery & Trade Initiative on Monday for a tour and a check presentation to the local faith-based nonprofit, which recently opened the first treatment center of its kind in the world.

Of the approximately $60,000 in money seized from criminal enterprises, $6,000 was donated to Emerge to support their mission of helping individuals in recovery rebuild their lives.

Turning Bad into Good

This donation represents a powerful transformation — money that once fueled addiction and crime is now being used to help people recover and build new, productive lives. It's a fitting example of the second chances that Emerge provides every day.
