Renovations in Progress - Campus Updates
From Vacant to Vibrant
When the former Greene County Career Center was scheduled for auction in March 2021, founders Chris Adams (Narrow Path Plumbing), Kip Morris (Five Star Heating & Cooling), and Doug Van Dyke (Van Martin Roofing) took the bold initiative to purchase the property located at 2960 W. Enon Road in Xenia, Ohio.
This venue now serves as a workforce catalyst to expand their second chance employer model and home for comprehensive services for men and women in recovery and youth as they age out of the foster care system.
JobsOhio Vibrant Community Grant
The Emerge Center is receiving a transformational investment of a $750,000 grant from JobsOhio. The JobsOhio Vibrant Communities Program was established to assist small and medium-sized communities implementing catalytic development projects that fulfill a market need and represent a significant reinvestment in Ohio communities.
This project aims to conduct needed repairs to the facility and make significant improvements to the campus infrastructure.
CLC Volunteer Day
As part of the ServeDayton serve day that CLC organizes every year, CLC sent volunteers to remove and save ceiling tiles to prepare the campus for the upcoming renovations. They also tore down an old, dilapidated greenhouse that was not being used.
"Emerge is going to have such a big impact on so many men's and women's lives. All the volunteers were so impressed by everyone at Emerge. We always want to give opportunities for people to serve alongside the volunteers and staff of the organizations we support. We love building relationships and serving together to make a difference for the Kingdom of God."
A New Roof for Emerge Springs
Thanks to Van Martin Roofing, our clinical services center now has a safe and sturdy roof. This generous contribution ensures that our treatment facilities remain in excellent condition for years to come. We're deeply grateful for their partnership and support of our mission.
Women's Housing Progress
A long-awaited project has officially started — we've begun renovation on a 3,000 square foot space on our campus which will open the door for women to enter our recovery ecosystem. This is an incredible milestone on our journey.
We are grateful to serve women and offer the same holistic continuum of care that has successfully transformed the lives of hundreds of men.
What's Next
The grant money is going to fund recreational space and additional improvements to the campus. Our renovation projects continue to progress, and we're excited to share updates as work continues:
- Women's Housing - Interior renovation and preparation for opening
- Campus Improvements - Ongoing maintenance and upgrades
- Training Facilities - Expansion of Trades Institute workshop spaces
- Community Spaces - Enhanced common areas for residents
Each of these projects brings us closer to our vision of a comprehensive recovery ecosystem that serves everyone who needs us. Thank you to all the donors, partners, and volunteers who make this growth possible.
